Your venue gets shortlisted on Google, or it does not get seen at all
A couple planning a wedding opens Google, searches “wedding venue Vaal Triangle”, and builds a shortlist of five in an afternoon — from map results and photos. A PA booking a year-end function does the same with “conference venue near Johannesburg”. If your venue is not in those results with photos that do it justice, the enquiry goes to a venue that photographs worse but shows up better.

And the enquiries you do get from listing portals? They arrive with commission attached, alongside four competitors, from a platform that owns the relationship. Your own Google presence is the channel nobody takes a cut of.
What is costing you bookings
- Photos decide, and Google shows your worst — venues are bought with the eyes. An unmanaged profile shows random visitor photos, bad lighting, empty halls, somebody’s plate of food, instead of your venue at its best.
- Portal dependence — listing sites charge fees or commission and rank above you for your own venue type. Every booking through your own profile is margin you keep.
- Seasonality with no counterweight — wedding season fills weekends. The profile that also ranks for “conference venue”, “year-end function venue” and “private events” fills the weekdays and the off-season.
- Slow first response — couples enquire at five venues and tour the ones that reply first. A profile set up for WhatsApp enquiries, answered fast, wins tours before competitors open the email.
How we fill your calendar
We rebuild your profile around what sells venues: a photo library that actually looks like your venue on its best day (your shots, properly organised and geo-tagged), every event type listed as its own service — weddings, conferences, year-end functions, private celebrations — accurate capacity and facility details, and WhatsApp enquiry links that capture the “we are just looking” crowd. Ongoing, we post real events and seasonal availability weekly, answer every review, and run a review system that turns happy couples and corporate clients into public proof.
The monthly report shows your map rankings for each event type across your drawing area. Venues pull guests from much further than a plumber does, and we track accordingly.
Where the venue needs to be seen as well as found, social media and video do the heavy lifting — venue tours and event highlights that feed Google, Instagram and your enquiry pipeline at the same time.

We know events
BurnesSEO comes out of the events world. We understand the difference between a bride’s search in November and a PA’s search in September, and we build your visibility to catch both. We work with venues across Gauteng and the Vaal Triangle, including Meyerton and Midvaal.
Find out whether you are on the shortlist
Send us your venue name on WhatsApp. We will search the way a couple and a PA each search, show you where you appear across your drawing area, and tell you what is keeping you off the list.
